AUNUS [Finland/ Suomi] 6 [] overprint

A postage stamp of Suomi/ Finland overloaded Aunus. The year of issue: 1919, the overprint is the name of the city Olonets (Finnish: Aunus, Karelian: Anuksenlinnu, Russian: Олонец). It is located in the Russia, in Republic of Karelia. For a few years - during the Civil War in Russia (the struggle between "red" and "white" after the October Revolution) - this contentious parts of Eastern Karelia was occupied by Finnish volunteers army called The Aunus expedition. In 1919 theirs local authorities used the Finnish regular stamps with overprint "Aunus.". Theme: coat of arms/ flag/ emblem. AUNUS [Finland/ Suomi]. Face value: 1M; Postage stamp Mi. No. 6; cancelled. The catalogue price: 150 Euro.
