Republic of Cameroon/ Rèpublique du Cameroun There are 2 products.

Cameroon postal history begins in the nineteenth century with the German protectorate - postage stamps were issued with the inscription 'Kamerun'. During I World War were used stamps issued by France with the label informing about the occupation: "Corps Cameroon ExpeditionnaireFranco-Anglais" (Corps ExpeditionnaireFranco-Anglais Cameroun), "Occupation Francaise de Cameroun" (Occupation Francaise de Cameroun). In 1922, the area of the former German colony passed under the suzerainty of France and Great Britain,  each of them issued their own postage stamps. French part of the former German colony gained independence in 1960, in 1961 joined the British part of Cameroon (the other 2/3 became a part of Nigeria after voting in the plebiscite).

In 1961 the country was renamed the Federal Republic of Cameroon/ République du Cameroun fédérale, then in 1972 the name changed to the United Republic of Cameroon/ République du Cameroun unions. Since 1984 is again in use the Republic of Cameroon/ Republique du Cameroun - currently Cameroon issues its own postage stamps with the inscription in those both languages: French and English.
Philately from times before Cameroon's independence is placed in categories of the colonies of particular countries.
