Carolinien Islands [Karolinen] - Micronesia There are 19 products.

The islands of Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei and Kosrae are in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM).
In 1899 the Spaniards sold the islands to Germany, which began the postal history and mail of this area. Were used German postage stamps overprinted "Karolinen". In the years 1914-1946 the island occupied Japan, which introduced its own stamps. Since 1946 were used the U.S. stamps and mail because the terrain of islands became a part of the U.S. Trust Territory of the Pacific. In 1976 the Federated States of Micronesia gained independence and in 1984 issued its first stamps.
